The term loneliness is symptomatic of a time in which everyone experiences social and physical isolation on their own body. Against the background of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the performance deals with questions about the emotional and physical experience of being connected to one another, the renunciation as well as the translation and outsourcing of this using media technology: How can a feeling of connectedness and familiarity without physical closeness and touching one Body are generated? Can imitations or digital surrogates even simulate a hug and let it be experienced?
In the exhibition hall of the Kunstverein Freiburg, the dancer Unita Gay Galiluyo and the singer Winnie Luzie Burz will try out communication processes and instruments and make their own bodies audiovisual for the online audience using an e-stethoscope and sensors. In its work, the collective draws on the results of the dance research project Relay RE: search , which is funded by the Reload grant from the German Federal Cultural Foundation.
